Forge & Sorcery

A poker-combat roguelike where every hand you play fuels your forge. Craft equipment, collect fragments, forge ability cards, and fight through a branching map of enemies and bosses.

How It Works

Combat plays out in two phases each turn:

  1. Play a poker hand — Select cards to form pairs, flushes, and more. Stronger hands generate more resources to fuel your forge.
  2. Play an ability card — Use forged spells to deal damage, block attacks, heal, or debuff enemies. This is your only source of damage.

After your turn, enemies strike back. Survive the encounter, navigate the map, and prepare for the next fight.

The Forge

Every card you play generates materials (Wood, Iron, Crystal, Bone, Mythril) and elements (Fire, Earth, Nature, Shadow) based on its value and suit. These fill an anvil bar that auto-crafts equipment when full — granting passive bonuses like ATK, DEF, dodge, thorns, and healing.

Crafting also produces fragments that you combine at rest stops to forge new ability cards. The element determines the spell school, the material determines its power.

Build Your Run

  • 24 equipment recipes across multiple tiers
  • 5 spell schools — Destruction, Fortification, Vitality, Trickery, and Chaos
  • Procedurally generated ability cards from fragment combinations
  • Branching map with fights, shops, rest stops, events, and a final boss
  • Multiple enemies per encounter — up to 3 at once in later tiers
  • 4 difficulty modes — Easy, Normal, Hard, Insane

Strategic Depth

A lean deck draws consistent hands but limits resource variety. A large deck offers flexibility but dilutes hand quality. Every card you add or remove shifts your combat power, crafting trajectory, and ability card potential.

Controls

  • Click cards to select, then Play Hand or Discard
  • Drag ability cards onto enemies or your hero to cast
  • ESC to open settings
